Pelvic Floor Assessment & Treatment
I often have a lot of questions about what to expect in the pelvic floor therapy evaluation and treatment. In this video I break it down for you! Pelvic floor (aka pelvic health) therapy is the assessment of the muscles and tissues of and around the pelvic area (internal and external) in order to eliminate any pain and symptoms. Pelvic health therapy involves treatment of bowel, bladder, digestive and sexual functions. Additionally the pelvic floor may also be a driver in the other orthopedic pain such as low back or hip pain. It is important to note that internal treatment is not necessary for every session as there are many other areas to assess and treat as well. I believe that all people, particularly women, would benefit from at least a couple sessions of pelvic health therapy in order to minimize the onset of symptoms later in life.
What Type of Lubricant is Best??
There are many issues that one may experience during intercourse that can be resolved with a high quality lubricant. There are three main types of lubricants. Knowing the benefits of each will help you make a better selection and improve the overall comfort of your experience.
If pain does not improve with a good lubricant and is not improving in general, reach out to a pelvic health therapist and they can do a full assessment to determine if there are other contributing factors.
What you need to know about cesarean sections.
Cesarean sections, though quite common, make for quite a different recovery experience for the Mama. I encourage women to discuss with their providers before delivery how they can make a cesarean more family friendly and keep as much of the birth experience to it rather than making it so clinical and sterile. Even if a woman is planning a vaginal delivery, I encourage women to ask questions about what their provider does to make it a unique experience.

Scar massage can alleviate pain, bladder urgency/frequency and even pain with intercourse. This is important for someone to do whether they had a vaginal delivery or a cesarean. Any sort of tearing where tissue was injured and compromised can benefit from scar massage.
We all have stress in our lives. But knowing how to calm down when you’re stressed and anxious can be imperative. Not only for your sanity, but for your entire body’s well being. As an Energy Healer, I am often helping people optimize their healing. One big step to optimize your body’s natural healing functions is to minimize the stress overload, or sympathetic overdrive, within our body.
