Dr. Marissa Shupperd

Doctor of Physical Therapy

I graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Indiana University. I have advanced training in pelvic floor rehabilitation through Herman and Wallace, advanced assessment skills from NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT), Visceral training through The Barral Institute, Pilates through Balanced Body, Yoga Training, and Functional Dry Needling through Evidence in Motion.

In addition to formal training, I have had the privilege of being mentored by top manual and pelvic floor physical therapists in the Indianapolis and Dallas area for the past 6 years to further enhance my skills. With a decade of experience in personal training and teaching group fitness (spin, strength, Pilates, HITT), I am a connoisseur of health and wellness. I enjoy helping people to achieve their strongest, healthiest, and happiest selves through movement.

After years of chronic pain from injuries endured during my collegiate volleyball career, I found the physical therapists who were able to help me the most took a skilled, holistic, and comprehensive approach to the body. This greatly informed my vision of care. Once exposed to pelvic health physical therapy in my graduate schooling, I immediately began training and learning more.

My passions for holistic health education, movement, nutrition, anatomy, and connecting with others all collided with pelvic health PT making it the perfect avenue for my skill set. While my knowledge of exercise science and specialized manual therapy facilitate lasting results, my patients most appreciate my ability to listen and connect the dots in their pelvic health journey. I strive to get to the root cause of my patient’s pain and symptoms to allow patients to not only recover from injury but to thrive, living life to its fullest. I have also begun further training in Reiki, a form of energy medicine, that has helped me greatly in the last several years. I look forward to enhancing my skills and incorporating this tool into my treatments.

Originally from Indianapolis, my husband, Jeremy, and I moved to Idaho in October of 2023. In my free time, you can find me exploring all of the outdoors Idaho has to offer, teaching spin and Pilates classes, cycling outdoors, doing yoga, cooking, or hanging out in a coffee shop.
